Why Semperdata?

Semperdata™ Storage Solutions grew out of the data migration and recovery experience of Laitek and its principals. Core Semperdata software was developed and case-hardened in high-throughput data migration applications, and is at its base design level intended to serve four key goals:

• Faster data migration.
  The ultimate speed of data migration from Legacy archives is achieved by pairing a Semperdata target archive with Migratek Rapid Migration services. Once migrated and backed up, the legacy system can be shut down and the Semperdata archive queried for legacy data. For certain legacy systems, Semperdata can also support "Migration in Place", which retires the legacy server but retains the legacy file storage system.
• Media-standardized archiving.
  The full set of patient data stored in a Semperdata archive is represented in files stored on LTO archive tapes in a format documented in the Semperdata DICOM Conformance Statement, providing the greatest degree of vendor independence available.
• Practical disaster recovery.
  Semperdata archives provide a practical and clinically appropriate level of disaster recovery and business continuity, without the vast expense of "big iron" hardware redundancy common in commercial PACS and archive offerings today.
• Low cost.
  Semperdata runs on industry-standard server configurations, is simple to configure and easy to support. It is priced to meet needs of OEMs and end-users alike. Semperdata archive software is included at no cost in Migratek data migration services; only a support fee is required for long term use.
